Welcome to the Lazy Café. Here we try to take it easy. Our customers serve themselves whenever possible. We try to make the environment pleasing enough—but not with a lot of effort, mind you. Decorations have to be easy to set up, and easy to take down. For instance, when a customer is done with his meal, he can just blow out the candle himself.
We also encourage our customers to provide their own entertainment and conversation during their meal. And of course to clear their own places when they’re done eating.
Sometimes when a customer makes a special request, and we try to honor it (in our own lazy way), and the customer isn’t quite pleased with the results, we just say, “Sorry, the sign says, ‘The Lazy Café,’ not ‘The We’ll-Do-It-All-Just-How-You-Want-It Café,’” and we leave it at that.
