I went to see Harry and the Potters at our rockin’ library green in downtown Springfield the other day. They are so groovy. It was a great show. They are coming out with a new album—”The Power of Love”—and I can’t wait. As it is, since buying their CD “Voldemort Can’t Stop the Rock” at their show, I can’t get those tracks out of my head.
On their blog, band member Paul DeGeorge wrote, “Wow, we just had an awesome warm-up library tour in Awesomechusestts! Thanks to all you Awesomechusetts residents for coming out to these great shows! You are awesome!” This does make me feel special.
I took a bunch of pictures at the show for my city blog, and since I couldn’t really post these flipbook shots there in good conscience, I thought I’d post ‘em here. Just can’t really do the flipbook effect. Use your imagination.
This particular performance was during their finale, “The Weapon,” which is all about the power of love to conquer all. As the lyrics go, “There’s one thing that I’ve got/One thing you’ve got inside you, too/One thing that we’ve got/And this one thing is enough to save us all/The weapon we have is love.” They really rocked out on this one.

Hi Heather!
This is Jean from the City Library. Thanks so much for blogging about the Harry and the Potters concert that kicked off the Teen Summer Reading Program (www.springfieldlibrary.org) on your city blog And I recently discovered this entry, too. Great photos, great comments. I really enjoy their songs too–they have so well captured the angst of growing up, the power of friendship and love, good prevailing over evil, and the fun of good friends that are the core of the Harry Potter books. Looking forward to the new CD! (The others are available to borrow from the Springfield City Library, of course!) Hope your son is better.
Best,
Jean
